May 20, 2019 | Leave a Comment

Beauty eCommerce is a very promising means for building a business or earning income that helps you identify personally with your brand and become an entrepreneur even with minimal starting capital. New technologies we’re afforded today enables many entrepreneurs to start their own eCommerce successfully with the help of suppliers like Asian Beauty Wholesaler.

Here are some useful beauty eCommerce startup techniques you can use as a newbie entrepreneur:

 1. Find your niche. The first essential step for any entrepreneur is to determine the market niche they’re planning to venture into. In the beauty industry, there are so many varied and dynamic niches and target markets that can easily fluctuate especially in the advent of social media and online marketing. Furthermore, the beauty industry is also a very competitive one, where both established long-time players and newbie pioneers play the field. It is also important to find your target niche so you can effectively assess your business strategy, including competition, future marketing campaigns, and most especially profitability.

2. Choose a product to sell. Next, you should have an idea about what kind of product(s) you’re planning to sell. In the beauty industry, there are tons of products sold and it can be confusing where to start. Choosing the product(s) you want to sell beforehand is crucial because this will become an integral part of your business plan and future marketing strategies. Choosing the right product(s) to sell also helps you set the right budget and determine feasible logistics.

3. Obtain your product. Now that you’ve decided on a product to sell and determined your target niche, the next step is obtaining the means to secure your product. There are various means of obtaining your selling product. The most common include direct manufacturing, retailing, wholesale, and dropshipping.

  • This model works for entrepreneurs who have the means and capital to manufacture their own product(s). Direct manufacturers usually have their own product ideas that is entirely new or unique to the market. Direct manufacturing allows full branding control and inventory of the said product(s) and setting the price range. Direct manufacturing can come in various manufacturing levels, from simple home-made soap makers to full-on manufacturers of a new product with elaborate packaging and branding.
  • Retailing. Retailing is a good business model for entrepreneurs who want to sell a variety of products without having to directly manufacture them, nor have enough connections to manufacturers. Retailing is good for smaller-scale entrepreneurs who want to start their own business using fairly established brands with a pool of steady customers. Retailing also allows a fair amount of product diversification at a relatively low cost.
  • Wholesale. This model works best for medium scale entrepreneurs who want to sell high quantities of established beauty products. Wholesale is similar to retailing, but the difference is that wholesalers usually have direct connections to manufacturers and can order bulk quantities at a discounted price.
  • Dropshipping is a relatively new business model that allows entrepreneurs to sell items even without having to purchase it. Dropshippers do most of the logistics such as inventory and shipping items to the customer, and all the beauty entrepreneur has to do is find buyers and check in with the dropshipping provider and create a purchase order. Dropshipping is ideal for entrepreneurs with a very minimal budget and logistical capabilities.

4. Analyze your market and competition. As a new player in the competitive online beauty industry, you must develop the edge to stand out and increase your brand visibility. One does so by researching current market trends and competition, so you can bank on and capitalize on viable beauty trends that will give you an advantage among your competitors. Beauty trends are rapidly changing in today’s tech-savvy era, and being aware of your own unique business voice builds better marketing strategies and market visibility.

5. Build your online store. Now that you have a strategic and interesting business plan, it’s time to put in the work of opening your online store. Choose an online selling platform that is easy to navigate and integrates many business tools easily, such as online payment methods, shipping options, and marketing tools. Investing in quality web development is also crucial for any online entrepreneur.

6. Market and launch. Once your online store has been set up, it’s time to go forth and spread your business to the world and attract customers. Get creative with your opening ideas by creating attention-worthy marketing campaigns and launches that will make ripples when you venture out into the online business world.

eCommerce gives everyone the opportunity to become their own entrepreneurs. Thanks to technology, opening your first online business becomes easy and even effortless, with a wide range of options to suit your business needs and budget.
